Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Healthcare Directives

Among the services I can confidently provide to you are:

  • Drafting a will that ensures your property and assets will be passed on to children or other heirs according to your wishes
  • Develop a trust that will enable your heirs to avoid the probate process and public disclosure requirements, if desired.
  • Providing a durable power of attorney to ensure a person you trust will make decisions in the event of your incapacitation
  • Providing a sound living will and advanced healthcare directive, in order to document your wishes regarding life support and decision-making should you develop an incapacitating illness or injury

Probate Administration

  • Probate is a process by which a court oversees the payment of a deceased person's debts and the distribution of that person's assets. The assets of the estate are used to pay the decedent's debts and the remaining assets are distributed according to the decedent's will or, if there is no will, the state laws of intestacy.
  • Whenever a person dies, his or her estate needs to be collected and managed. Estate administration involves gathering the assets of the estate, paying the decedent's debts, and distributing the remaining assets after payment of required taxes.
  • Probate services can be lengthy and require on-going attention and communication, for which a knowledgable and experienced attorney is required.
